How the percentage calculator works
X% of Y = Y × X ÷ 100. 20% of 150 = 150 × 20 ÷ 100 = 30.
X is what % of Y = X ÷ Y × 100. 30 ÷ 150 × 100 = 20%.
Percentage change = (new − old) ÷ old × 100. From 150 to 180: 30 ÷ 150 × 100 = +20%.
Increase by X% = Y × (1 + X/100); decrease = Y × (1 − X/100).
